Meet Dr. Z
Doctor & Owner
Zachary R. Smith, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Smith’s core as a dentist is to provide relationship-based care through a comprehensive approach to dentistry. His background strikes a balance between dental excellence and athletics. Academically, he has experience in scholarship, teaching, and research. Alternatively, as an endurance athlete, he has immersed himself in persistence that allows him to pursue all these interests equally.
He received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. During his time in dental school, he earned two national Ethics Awards and worked on projects that landed him in dental magazines and the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Upon graduating, he felt he had more to give and wanted to expand his technical skills. This drive led him to earn a specialty certificate in a one-year advanced education in general dentistry program at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, which gave him additional training beyond those graduating from dental school.

Dr. Z is a participating member of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN). Funded by the NIH, the National Dental PBRN allows Dr. Z and other dentists across the United States to conduct nationwide oral health studies that will improve patient care and impact the way dentistry is practiced.
Outside of the office, Dr. Smith competes at a high level in endurance athletics including Ironman triathlons and marathons. The commitment he puts into his life outside of the office is the same, if not more than he puts into his practice. At Z Dentistry, our aim is that the sum of Dr. Smith’s experiences will give patients an all-encompassing type of dentistry by means of true patient connections.
